The P. T. A. members will also serve the alumni banquet on May 7. On May 22, the annual state convention of the Indiana PtirentTeachers association will be held in Fort Wayne. Members of all P. T.A. groups have been urged to attend. f MEETING OF EVER READY CLASS HELD Mrs. W. Guy Brown was hostess to the Ever Ready class of the Methodist church last evening. Mrs. Virgil Krick gave the Easter meditatin devotionals, and Mrs. Jess Niblick offered prayer. ■ Miss Etta Mallonee gave a review of the past month’s Sunday school lesson. During the brief business meeting, Mrs. John Nelson reported on the recent bake sale. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. R. A. Stuckey, Mrs. 0. K. Baker and Mrs. Harry Sipe. Lovely refreshments were served. The May meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Ruse. NAZARENE MISSIONARY SOCIETY IN MEETING The Missionary society of the Nazarene church met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Plasterer Thursday evening. The meeting was opened with the group singing "That They Might Know Him." Mrs. Carter was in charge of the devotions, following which various reports were given. St. Mark's Lutheran church will have ham and egg supper at the church in Monroeville Saturday night from five to seven o'clock. The public is invited to attend. Mrs. John Kennedy, of North Third street, arrived home by plane from St. Petersburg, Fla., yesterday. Mr. Kennedy is driving through with their car. They went south last February. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ehinger will leave Sunday for a several days’ visit in Chicago. .Mr. Ehinger will attend a conference of telephone company executives. Dr. James G. Neptune and L. F. Center, both formerly of Decatur, are enjoying a vacation trip to Hai:i and the Virgin Islands, according to word received here by friends. Dr. Neptune now resides in Lima. 0., and Mr. Center lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spichiger, Linn Grove, are parents of a baby girl, born at 2:42 p.m. Thursday at the Adams county memorial hospital. She weighed 6 pounds. 9 ounces. Lutheran Choir To Present Osorio Lenten Meditation Here Sunday*Night “The Crucifixion." a musical meditation on the sacred passion of the Redeemer, will be presented by the 3G-voice choir of Zion Lutheran church, West Alonroe and Eleventh streets, Sunday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The concert will be presented before the chancel of the church and will be under the direction of.David Embler. choir master. The inspiring Lenten oratorio follows closely the text of Scripture, picturing the passion of the Redeemer in full chorus, and tenor and bass arias. The bass solos will be sung by Karl Relnking. and the tenor arias by the Rev. Edgar Schmidt and Gerhard Schultz. Mrs. Evangeline (i'mbler, Adams county organist, will accompany the choir on the church organ. The public is invited to attend the concert, for which there will be no admission charge. Two Autos Involved In Accident Here Charles Burdg, route 3, Decatur, and Jerome Gaskill, Decatur, were involved in an auto accident on Third street between Monroe and Jackson. Damage -to Burg’s car amounted to 320. Ralph Landrum, 29, Decatur, was fined 35 and costs and received a 30-day suspended sentence in Mayor's court on changes of disorderly conduct.
