BETA SIGMA PHI SORORITY ENTERTAINS WITH PARTY On Tuesday evening, the Delta Lambda chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority held a get-to-gether party at the home of Mrs. Francis Ellsworth for members and their guests. The guest list included Miss Claire Mowery, Miss Evelyn Frohnapfel, Miss Helen Wellman, Mrs. Thelma Andrews, Mrs. Bertilene Hess. Mrs. Dorothy Manlier, Mrs. Bertha Lane, Mrs. Ruhamah Custer and Miss Olive Journey. The next meeting will be a combined business and cultural meeting on Tuesday, April 19, at the Zion Lutheran church basement. Discussion leaders for the cultural program will be Mrs. George Bair and Miss Eloise Jackson. GIRL SCOUT LEADERS MEETING IS HELD The Girl Scout leaders club met Wednesday afternoon at -Decatur high school, with twenty-three members in attendance. Mrs. Don Jefferies conducted the meeting in (he absence of Mrs. Hersh, president. Mrs. Sylvester Everhart served as seefetary. Leaders were reminded of the court of awards to be held on May 9, Each troop will have its own flag and standard at the Lincoln school at that time. Troop representatives are to be present for the. meetings April 25 and 28 at the Lincon school. During the business meeting, it was decided to appoint a nominating committee to present a slate of officers at the next meeting. The committee will present names for president, program chairman and secretary. Those appointed were Mrs. Byron Smith, Mrs. Dick South and Mrs. Noble Lobsiger. The refreshments committee for May 4 will be Mrs. Lane, Mrs. Doyle and Mrs. Beery. Miss Mary Stack, of Fort Wayne council, invited members of the club to attend an art and craft workshop on April 12 at nine a.m. at the Jefferson community center. On April 19 the outdoor activities course will be given from nine to eleven thirty o’clock. Mrs. Len Parker, nature specialist of Fort Wayne, attended the meeting and addressed the group on plants, bulbs, textile designs and then conducted a nature hike. Refreshments were served at a later hour. The committee in charge included .Mrs, Noble Lobsiger and Mrs. Chester Dalzell. The Happy ‘Homemakers of Washington township will meet Tuesday evening at seven thirty o'clock at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Mitchell. Members are requested to bring an article for the auction. The Ladies Fireman's auxiliary will meet at the fire station at seven thirty o'clock Monday evening. The Rev. and Mrs. C. A. Schmid, of Berne, announce the engagement ind approaching marriage of their daughter, Julia, to Greg Gordon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Gordon of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. The wedding will take place in the early summer. Miss Schmid is now music supervisor in the Buchanan. Mich., schools. Mr. Gordon is a .ontractor.
