Miss Joan Death, leader, used as her subject “Today’s 7 Horizons in China." .Miss Bonnie Simons, vice president, conducted the business meeting, which closed with the guild ceremonial. Miss Judy Myers (Will be the May leader, with' Jean Ann Potts and Nora Lee Ray as hostesses. Delicious refreshments were served the eleven members in attendance by the hostesses, Bonnie Simons and Marjorielu Hill. The Bluffton chapter of Kapna Kappa Kappa sorority announced today that it will sponsor a performance by the Fort Wayne Civic theater of the hilarius comedy, "Life With Father.". The play will he presented at the Bluffton community building on Wednesday, April 20, at 8 o’clock. catur after visiting over the weekend with his parents at Bedford. Jay Teeple, hero veteran of World War I, was a patient in St. Anthony’s hospital at Effingham, 111., about five years ago, his mother, Mrs. .Minnie Teeple of Closs street, said today. Jay was knocked down by an automobile, while walking along the roadside near Effingham. He was removed to the hospital and his .mother said that the nuns who operated the hospital nursed him back to health. He was in a critical condition for several weeks. Jay how resides at the Veteran’s home, Danville, 111. Robert J. Holthouse, well-known Decatur business man and president of the Decatur Lions club, underwent a major operation at St. Joseph’s hospital in Fort Wayne this morning. Mr. Holthouse will remain at the hospital for about 10 days, it was learned. .Mrs. W. Guy Brown is in Springfield, 0.. spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Mills and family. Crochet Contest Is Planned Here For Street Fair Another feature was added to the 1949 Decatur free street fair when It was announced today that Beta Sigma Phi sorority wottlij sponsor a crochet contest in connection with this year's fair. The Decatur winners will then be entered in the national crochet contest. Cash prizes and trophies will be given the local .winners. Clarence Ziner, general chairman of the 1949 event, has made the arrangements for the Adams county exhibit with Miss Rose Miller, president of the*local chapter of the sorority. Mr. Ziner stated that the entire affair would be under the sponsorship of Beta Sigma Phi and that if would be under-written by the fair association. Mr. Ziner said that details for, ‘he show would be announced soon . and also a list of prizes in the various classes also would be announced later. Local Man Taken To Sanitarium . A 24-year-old Adams county man was taken to a private sanatariuni this morning after insanity proceedings were started against him by his parents. City police report that S9O damage occurred Tuesday evening when one car side-swiped another at Monroe and Second streets. Clifford Landis and Mildred Geisler, both of Decatur, were the driver’s involved. Robert and Thomas Ander son, both of Decatur, were arrested Tuesday on charges of disorderly conduct.
