TWO MEN who admit taking part in the daring robbery of a crack B. & O. passenger train outside Martinsburg, W. Va., are held by Washington police after their capture in downtown Washington, where they went by bus and were traced on tips. They are George Llewellyn Ashton, 21, and Luman Ramsdell, 23, both of Youngstown, O. The robbers halted the train by pulling the emergency cord, then robbed some 100 passengers of cash estimated at SI,OOO. A chef was shot in the leg when the robbers fired to break into the locked club car, and other passengers and (rain crewmen were slugged. The desperadoes also robbed patrons of a roadhouse during their getaway. (International)
Investigate Fatal Beating Os Inmate Evansville, Ind., March 11 —(UP) — The Indiana mental health council today investigated the fatal beating of George Moehienkamp, 70, a patient in Evansville state hospital. Moehienkamp was killed when another inmate of the mental institution attacked him with a heavywaxing mop while the two were waxing a floor. The attack occurred in a corridor and John Paterson, 41, who was accused of weilding the mop, was placed in solitary confinement.

Sdiricker Studies Soldier Bonus Bill Many Other Bills Also Await Action Indianapolis, March 11—(UP)— The Indiana soldier bonus bill was op the desk of governor Schricker today along with an unofficial opinion on it completed yesterday by attorney general J. Emmett MeManamon. Tjie multi-million-dollar measure arrived from the attorney general's office late yesterday afternoon. The governor was expected to study it today before putting his signature on the bill and making i( law. Also awaiting the governor's action in a stack of unsigned bills was the record-breaking biennial budget measure and the $53,000,000 school tuition support bill enacted by the 86th Indiana general assembly. Members of tfce assembly had long since departed for tfleir homes in all parts of the state. But clear!cal staffs still worked in the vir-tually-deserted chambers bringing records up to date and compiling the accomplishments of the lawmakers. House speaker Robert Heller left today for his home in Decatur but will return frequently during the next few weeks to sign daily journal entries in the official archives. Lt. Gov. John Watkins, presiding officer in the senate, will sign similar records in the senate hut will remain in his statehouse office. Commercial fishermen gross over $8,000,000 annually in North Carolina.
