Dress Revue Will Be Featured Here During Dairy Day A herringbone twill pinafore green denim coverall apron will be among the garments to be modeled by Adams county farm women on “Dairy Day" Wednesday. A dress revue styling clothes farm women could wear in dairy work is one of the new additions to Purdue University's dairy caravan which is on a tour into 33 Indiana counties. The revue, a feature added this year to attract the farm women to the dairy program, is under the direction of Mi s Lor raine Amy, extension home economist froiri Purdue University. The revue has been well received in the counties where it has been shown and according to Miss Amy, farm women as well as many men have been interested in the dairy clo.he, styled. The local committee working with Miss Amy includes Mrs. Max Schafer. Mrs. Gale Cook and Mrs. Earl Chase. Besides the revue, there will be eight Purdue exhibits combined with the mi k industrial displays for Adams county’s “dairy day” fair. Four Purdue extension specialists and Miss Amy wilt represent Purdue University at the caravan’s fair. The local display is scheduled for the Decatur high school gym. The Adams county home economics association, as well as assisting wi h the style show, will serve the noon lunch. A well balanced menu featuring dairy foods that was suggested by the District Association is being used. More than 100 women will assist in the serving. The committee in charge: Mrs. Sam Kaehr, Mrs. Everett Rice, Mrs. Wm. Werling, Mrs. -John Heiman and Mrs. John Magley. Defective Chimney Is Blamed For Fire Fire, originating from a defective chimney did considerai'!--damage to the Vernon Castle rt;i---i donee at 913 North Tenth street lat about 12:45 o’clock this afternoon. It took several minutes before local firemen could get control of the stubborn blaze, which had worked its way into the low attic. No estimate was available on the amount of damage, but it was learned that it was covered by insurance. Flames destroyed part of the roof and attic and the interior of the 1 house was damaged by smoke.

Prominent Muncie lady Blast Victim Fishing Boat In Florida Explodes Ft. Myers, Fla., March 7—(UP) —The body of Mrs. Ray Applegate. 50. socially prominent Muncie, Ind., woman who was killed in a fishing boat explosion, was enroute home today for funeral services. , Mrs. Applegate was killed, and her husband and Mt. and Mrs. Edmund F. Ball, also of Muncie,,injured in the explosion Saturday as they fished jn the Gulf of Mexico. A leaking gas line was blamed for the blast, which occurred in the midst of a fleet of boats-hovering over a run of kingfish. Ball, 42 year-old president of the multi-million-doUar Ball Brothers Co., Inc., makers of fruit jars and bbttles, was injured seriously. His wife, 41, was hurt critically, and Applegate, whose advertising firm handled the Ball accounts, was less seriously injured. Ball is the son of Edmund B. Ball, one of five brothers who founded the big concern. Hospital attaches described Mrs. Ball's condition this morning as “poor" and the conditions qf Ball and Applegate as “good." Mr. and Airs. Brownie troop 13 met at the fire station Thursday. Roll call was an-1 swered by the eleven present. The promise was given, after which a discussion of the Juliette Lowe party was held, and plans made for the Easter party at the county farm in April.
