Indianapolis Man Killed In Accident Southport*, Ind.. Feb. 17 - Il'Pl — Jesse John Ward. 52. Indianapolis, was killed and two other men injured seriously yesterday when a Pen nsylvania passenger train crashed into their truck. The injured, Charles J. Kelly. 59, and John 11. George Alcljron, 52. -both of Indianapolis, were taken to General hospital here. Policemen's Slayers Lose Court Appeal Indianapolis. Feb. - 17 — (UP) Robert 0. Brown And Frank Badgley. convicted of slaying two Hammond policemen and scheduled to die in the Indiana electric chair next Tuesday, today appeared to have lost a last-ditch fight for a fifth stay of execution. Elderly Physician Is Slain By Bandil Chicago Doctor Is Murdered In Office Chicago, Feb. 17 — (UP) — An elder y physician fought off a bandit in his office but was shot fatally and beaten it) the savagf struggle, police said today. Th? victim was Dr. A. J. Bennett, 76. -whose wife found him dead in a pool of blood in their apartment behind his office when she returned home after visiting a sister. Police said the doctor apparently was playing solitaire when the bandit broke in and struck him with a claw hammer wrapped ih a cloth. Tilson.! a Republican, said that governmental policy under the Democratic administration "drove" him to make the announcement.
