Refreshments were served at a later hour. LEGION AUXILIARY ■ MEETS FRIDAY The regular meeting of the Amer1 ican Legion auxiliary was held Friday evening at the Legion home. A donation of ten dollars was voted to the heart fund, and ten dollars ' to the cancer fund. Mrs. Harold Tieman gave a report on the poppy club, and a letter explaining the club was read by Mrs. Nick Braun. Mrs. Severin Schurger was installed as seargent of anms by the past district (president, Mrs. Tillman Gehrig. At the drill team meeting, Mrs. Roxie Kessler was elected president; Airs. Elmer Darwachter, vice president, and Mrs. Verne Meyer, secretary- treasurer. "Sweet Genevieve," the song of the month, was sung by the group, after which Mrs. Vernon Aurand was awarded the attendance prize. The next social meeting will be held on February 2J. | MRS. ENTERTAINS CLUB MEMBERS A meeting of the Profit and Pleasure Home Economics club was held recently at the home of Mrs. Arthur Lengerich, with seventeen members in attendance. The president, Mrs. Boyd Stepler, led the group in singing the song of the month "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” followed by the club creed. Mrs. Asa Parrish gave the devotions. Roll call .was answered with "how I can be a better citizen of America and the world.'s Mrs. Alton Corsons was appointed 4-H leader, assisted by Mrs. Charles Schnepp, Mrs. Henry Heimann and Mrs. Leonard Shwaller. Mrs. Clarence McKean and Mrs. Delota Engle, leaders, led in the discussion of the topic "How to Choose Your Pattern and Fabric.” During the social hour, a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. The next meeting will be held March 9 at the home of Mrs. Alton Corson. KIRKLAND P. T. A. Meeting is held The Kirkland Township ParentTeachers association met at the school gymnasium recently. The program was climaxed by showing the Cathedral film entitled "The Prodigal Son.” The business meeting was conducted 'by the president, Mrs. William Kruetzman.
