Indoor golf and snowman were played during the evening and prizes awarded to Mrs. Glenn, Hill, Mrs. Clarence Ziner and Mrs. George Bair. i Delicious refreshments were served at a later hour by the hostesses. BIRTHDAY party GIVEN THURSDAY The Misses Mary Martha Terreer and Mary Ann Laurent entertained with a birthday party last evening at the William Schnepf home for Miss Dorothy Schnepf. Hearts were played and prizes were awarded Miss Schnepf, Mrs. Frances Terveer, Miss Mary Leitz, and Mrs. John Terveer. A lovely luncheon was later served from a beautifully appointed table centered with a huge birthday cake. The honored guest received many lovely gifts. Those attending were the Misses Fern Passwater, Mary Miller, Irene Holthouse, Florence Schultz. Betty Melchi and Mary Letts, and Mrs. Frances Terveer, Mrs. John Terveer, Mrs. Verena Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. William Schnepf, Sr., and son, Stewart. MEETING OF VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY HELD A meeting of the St. Vincent de Paul society was held at the C. L. of C. hall. Mrs. William Lose was awarded the bridge prize, and Mrs. Frank Schmitz, the prize in five hundred. The committee in charge served a luncheon at the close of the meeting. The next meeting will be held on February 23.

Annual Joint Meeting Monday Night

Dr. Gera'd H. Jones, pastor of the First Methodist church, will be the principal speaker at the annual joint meeting of the Adams County Federation of Clubs and the Decatur Woman’s club in library hall Monday evening at 7:45* o’clock. A former army chaplain, Dr. Jones is recognized as a very able speaker and will address his audience on the subject of "The New World Hope.” Preceding the talk, Miss Helen Haubold, mu ic instructor in Decatur public schools, will present 15 boys and girls from the third grade in novel demonstrations of singing gamee. Members of all federated clubs in the city and county are urged to attend by the committee in charge, including Mrs. R. C. Hersh, president of Adams County Federation; Mrs. A. R. Holthouse. Mrs. Harry Dailey, Mrs. Charles Knapp, Mrs. Henry He|’er, Mrs. A. D. Suttles, and Mrs. N. A. Bixler, of the Woman’s club. j BRIDE-ELECT GIVEN SHOWER WEDNESDAY Miss Kathleen Noll, bride-elect, was the honored guest at a miscellaneous shower recently. Upon her arrival, she was presented with a lovely corsage of white carnations. Games were then played and prizes awarded the various winners, who in turn presented them to the bride-elect. Miss Noll was also the recipient of many gifts. The mee'ing of Girl Scout troop UA was held at the Lincoln school. Judy Parrish gave a report concerning Janet Topitt, and Agnes Werst taught a- singing dance. The mee ing closed with the Girl Scout handshake and taps. A Valentine party was planned., Sundra Sue Reppert, scribe. Brownie troop 13 met«at the fire station Thursday afternoon. The meeting was opened with the flag pledge and Brownie promise. Names were drawn for the best decorated sewing box, first prize going to Marilyn Jefferies, second prize, Judj- Dedolph and third, Nancy Frank. The remainder of the girls were given bubble gum. Each virl was asked to remember a Brownie with a get well card whenever one was ill. The girls worked on their sewing project for thf afternoon.
