The president, Mrs. Donald Jefferies, presided at a brief business meeting, after which members and guests were invited to the dining room where tables were decorated in red, white and blue crepe paper streamers and lighted tapers. Delicious refreshments were served by the. .hostesses, Mrs. Lloyd Ahr, Mrs. Minnie Teeple, Mrs. Harve Baker and Mrs. Grant Fry. Mrs. Frederick Striker was awarded the door prize. . The next meeting will be the Valentine party on February 14. with (Mrs. Frank Crist as chairman, assisted by Juanita Baumgartner, Mrs. Clara Baumgartner and Mrs. Emma Beavers. ENTERTAIN CHURCH CLASS TUESDAY The Pleasant Mills (Methodist Willing Workers class met Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bauman, with sixteen members in attendance. The meeting, conducted by the president, Murray Holloway, was opened with the devotions by Mrs. John Bailey and prayer, offered by Mrs. Murray Holloway. Following a brief business meeting, lovely refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Bauman. KIRKLAND LADIES CLUB IN MEETING The January meeting of the Kirkand Ladies Home Economics club was held Tuesday afternoon at the ligh school. Forty one members, me guest and,six children attendd. MEETING OF UNION TOWNSHIP CLUB HELD Mrs. Louise Grote was hostess to the Union Township Woman's club Wednesday. The president, Mrs. Thera! Stults, opened the meeting by leading the group in singing the song of the month and repeating the club creed. Roll call was answered with a New Year's resolu tion. Following the business meeting, Iva Nidlinger and Edna Roughia reviewed the lesson on short cuts in sewing. Games were later played and refreshments served by the hostess, assisted by Lillia Hammend and Mary Drew. Seventeen members, one guest and one child were in attendance. Th? Decatur Man Is Fined As Drunken Driver William Merriman, of 222 South Fourth street, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by sheriff Herman Bowman at Second and Jefferson streets.
