From Page Onei said that while some 175,600 farms were listed in the census of the state in 1945, only 133,000 farm tax reports were filed the following year. This, he said, indicated that some 47,000 Indiana farms went untaxed that year. Sturdevant said that many Hoos ier farmers were paying the farm levy of one-fourth of one percent, even though they were making selling farm products or holding money in nearby towns through down jobs, when wage-earners and businessmen must pay one percent. The causes of most tractor accidents are falls from the machine, overturning of the tractor, and refueling hazards. < InliiiK allowed by Ilonrd of Comiiiixsionrrn, Mondaj, Jan. 3, lIMII. Haywood Pub.
