. FARMING BUSINESS I i It’s our job to help make farm work easier and better paying. That means doing a lot more than just selling tractors and implements; it means that we must make farming our business, too. That’s why we like to spend as much of our time as we can out visiting our fanner friends. That’s how we learn why and how one farm is different from another... and see how the many different problems can be licked. If we haven’t been around to see you lately, we’re hoping to do it soon. We’d like to get better acquainted . . . both with you and your farm. The better we know you, the better we’ll be able to serve you. Meanwhile, next time you’re in town, drop in and see us. Lots of folks do. You’ll be welcome. We are headquarters for Ford Tractors, Dearborn Farm Equipment and genuine Tord Tractor and Dearborn Implement parts. James Reappointed Lieufenanl Governor Appointment Made To Control Senate Indianapolis, Jan. 6 — (UP)— Richard T. James unexpectedly wielded the presiding officer's gavel in the state senate today when the 86 ,h general assembly’s upper house convened for the first time. James, Who resigned as lieutenant governor last March to accept a post as treasurer and vice-presi-dent of Butler university, was reappointed to his former office yesterday by governor Gates. James succeeds Rue J. Alexander, who was appointed to the state’s second highest post last .April 14. Alexander died last Sunday. James will hold office only until January 10, when the new Democratic administration is. inaugurated. The appointment — James will serve only four days — was believed made to assure GOP con.rol of the senate during its organization. Normally, state auditor James M. Propst, a Terre Haute Democrat would have succeded Alexander as presiding officer in the senate and migiht have been able to place stumbling blocks in the path of the senate’s Republican majority.
