'Mick' Dey Takes Initial Steps On ‘ His 'New' Feet Marion "Mick” Dey, the 19-year-old Decatur youth who escaped from a death by electrocution October 21, took his first steps on “new" feet this week at Grant hospital. Columbus, 0. Skin was grafted onto tir seared feet from his hip and thigh. But the most serious hurdle to Dey’s recovery is his head injury. The skull itself was seriously burned when he touched the 6900 volt high tension wire, and a skilled brain surgeon was called in. Twenty-one holes were drilled through his skull with a local anesthetic. When the bone structure heals, doctors say, his scalp Will be removed, split, stretched and . turned ground so that it can cover his entire skull. The victim's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Dey, have taken up residence in Columbus since the mishap so that they can be at his j bedside. Physicians estimate he I will be hospitalized Until spring.
