DECATUR HOME EC CLUB IN MEETING The regular meeting of the Decatur Home 'Economics club was held Wednesday at the junior senior home economics room. A lovely luncheon was served at one o’clock at 'beautifully decorated tables, lighted with tall tapers, and centered with evergreen and large silver bows. Each place was marked 'by miniature poinsettas. Mrs. O. G. Baughman read the Christmas story from St. Lukes, following which carols were sung. iMrs. E. W. Busche installed new officers at a lovely candlelight services. Mrs. Busche was presented with a corsage from the retiring president, Mrs. John Metzger. A Christmas gilt exchange was then held . ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SUPPER IS HELD The annual Christmas supper ot the Do Your Best class of the TiinI ity Evangelical United Brethren | church was held at the church, with fifty-three members and guests in attendance. Miss Oma Hall, of Tocsin, gave a reading, entitled “Tljy Kingdom Coihe.” Devotionals were in charge of Mrs. Charles Robenold. To Observe 50th Anniversary Mr. an J Mrs. Eli A. Luginbill, of 40,5 West Water street, Berne, will observe their golden wedding apniversary with a family dinner Satur day evening at the home of a son, Carl. Open house for their many friends will be held at their residence Sunday from two to five o’clock and seven to nine. Mr. and Mrs. Luginbill were married on Sunday evening, Decern her 18, 1898, by the late Rev. S. F. Sprunger, and have three children Paul C., of Youngstown, O.; Mrs. Ira Sprunger, at home, and Carl E. Berne. One son, Arthur E„ is deceased. They also have five grand children. Both Mr. and Mrs. Luginbill are active in many church and, civic organizations in their community. Mr. Luginbill is seventy-nine year, of age, and Mrs. Luginbill, seventy-two.

RUTH AND NAOMI CIRCLE MEETS The Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion .Evangelical and Reformed church met Wednesday afternoon at the church. At noon, a delicious pot-luck dinner was served at long tables, decorated in keeping with the Yuletide season. Th? Christmas gift exchange was then held and secret pals revealed. New names were also drawn for the coming year. Mrs. Louisa Meyer was the leader, reading the Christmas story. "O Come All Ye Faithful" was sung by the members, following which scripture was read aftid the last | chapter of the book "Committed Unto Us” was reviewed. The program closed with prayer. 'Mrs. Henry Graber, vice presitdent conducted the Ihsuiness meeting at which time the following dona*ions were made: twenty dollars to the Fort Wayne children’s home; fifteen dollars to tne Winne bago Indian school missions; ten dollars to the home for the aged. Upper Sandusky, 0., and five dollars to the World service. The meeting was closed with the Mizpah benediction. The committee in charge included Mrs. Rufus Kirchoffer, Mrs. Luther Clase and Mrs. Edward Borne. ST. MARY’S TOWNSHIP CLUB MEETING HELD The Jolly Housewife club of St. 1 Mary’s Township held its monthly ! meeting and Christmas party Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Richard Hamrick. Contests were enjoyed and the prize was w *n >by Mrs. Backhaus. The lesson study on how to use re'rigera'ors and electric ranges was given by Mrs. Donald Colter. Christmas Gifts To Kroger Co. Employes Cash Christmas gifts to'aling $17,500 are being distributed this week to Kroger company employes in Decatur and the Fort Wayne area, C. O. Talla, Kroger branch»manager, announced. These Kroger people are among the 20,000 store, warehouse, office, and manufacturing plant personnel, located in 19 midwestern and southern states, who will participate in the firm’s Christmas gift plan, announced recently by Joseph B. Hall, Kroger president. Truck, Two Autos Damaged In Crash A truck and two automobiles were damaged in a "squeeze play" Thursday afternoon on North Ninth street opposite the General Electric plant, city police reported. A semi-trailer truck operated by Duff Truck line and driven by Paul E, Ballinger, of Lima, O„ wedged in a car driven by Helen Louise Kelly, of 812 West Adams street, against a parked ear owned by Freeman Schnepp, of 615 Short street. Police said the “squeeze" was causeiffby still a fourth vehicle, approaching in the opposite direction, which, was not identified.
