Dairy Specialist Meets DHIA Members G. A. Williams, dairy extension! specialist, met with members of the dairy herd improvement association this week. , Williams stated much progress | had been made by the group in the past 24 years he has worked with < them. “Twenty-four years ago,” said Williams, “members were' feeding one pound of corn fodder with three pounds of hay; today on- ; ly four members report feeding any corn fodder.” Another problem facing dairymen today is that 75 percent of all milk is now marketed as fluid milk. This fact means that it will be necessary for dairymen to produce a more even flow o( milk throughout the year. This will call for much better herd management and feeding program.
