New officers are Mrs. Frauhiger, chairman; Mrs. Edward Borne, vice chairman, and Mrs. Charles Beineke, secretary-treasur-er. Fifty calls were reported, after which the meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction. Delicious refreshments were later served by the hostess. Mrs. Curtis Fritzinger and Mrs. Louise Meyer. MEETING OF GOOD NEIGHBORS CLUB HELD The meeting of the Good Neighbors club was held at the home of Mrs. Roger Schaffter Thursday evening, with Mrs. Eli Schwartz assisting. Mrs. Raymond Brooks played several Hawaiian guitar selections, followed by the group singing "All Through the Night." Devotions were given by Mrs. Barbara Schrock. Following a brief business meeting. conducted by the president, Mrs. Edwin Bauman, the lesson "Party Refreshments” was reviewed by Anna K. Wiliams. Contests were then enjoyed and prizes won by Mrs. Claude Dennison and Miss Williams. The twenty one members and five guests were served delicious refreshments by the hostesses.

MARY JO BUTLER HONORED AT SHOWER The Misses Eldora Liddy, of Fort Wayne, and Norma Jane Hazelwood and Mrs. Ralph Myers entertained at the Roy Andress home Thursday evening with a miscellaneous shower for Miss Mary Jo Butler, whose marriage to Joseph Kaehr has been announced for Thanksgiving day. Small bouquets of yellow mums centered the attractively appointed tables. Miss Butler was presented with a red rose corsage by the hostesses, and was also the recipient of many lovely gifts. The gjiest list included Mrs. Clyde Butler. Mrs. Joseph Kaehr. Mrs. T. J. Metzler, Mrs. Vic LaFountain. Mrs. Don Raeder, Miss Mary Leitz, Miss Anna Schwartz, Miss Lois Chronister, Miss Ann Friedley, Miss Jane Parent, and Miss Betty Keller. Those unable to attend were Mrs. George Coy. Lauerman, of Youngstown, and Emil Edward Ballman, of San Diego, Calif., were united in marriage in the St. Edward church Saturday morning. November 13. Her attendants were her sister. Miss S. Jane Lauerman, junior bridesmaid, and Miss Rosemarie Kohne. of this city, roommate of the bride at St. Mary's college, Holy Cross, as maid-of-honor. The bride graduated from Our Lady of Peace academy at San Diego. She attended St. Mary college at Holy Cross and the Kelsey-Jen-ney college at San Diego. FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE CLUB MEETING HELD The 'Friendship Village Home Economics club of Blue Creek township met at the North Brick school Thursday. The m|etling, conducted by the president, Mrs. Thelma Bilderback, opened with the song of the month "All Through the Night.” Roll call was answered with “my Thanksgiving day menu," after which the lesson s'tidy was given by Donelda Markle. A report was then made by the Mrs. Leroy Bollerlbacher, Mrs. For est Ripley, Mrs. Orville Hileman and Mrs. Gerald Edwards on the Purdue university conference. During the business meeting, plans were made for the Christmas exchange and pot luck dinner’ to be held next month at the all day meeting. Following trffe scripture reading and poem by Mrs. Rolla ißaudenhush, a birthday auction was held. ENTERTAINS HOME ECONOMICS CLUB Members of the Root Township Home Economics club were guests of the Union Township Woman’s club Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ivan V. Barkley. Mrs. Thurl Stults, president, conducted the meeting which opened with the group singing the song of the month “All Through the NVrhtl" followed by the creed and roll call answered with “my Thanksgiving Day Menu.” Nineteen members and twentythree guests were in attendance. The group voted during the business meeting to exchange fiftycent gifts at the Christmas meeting. Mrs. Fred Marbach then gave a reading. Game% were played during the social hour and a delicious lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Elva Barkley. Mrs. Paula Thieme and Mrs. Adelle Bleek. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sprunger, of Berne, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter. Julia Ann, to Billy G. Emick, son of the late Dr. G. C. Emick. Mr. Ehinger is vice president of the Adams county insurance agents association. He will have an active part in formulating the associations 1949 program. Mr. Calland visited the universities and processing plants in that territory in the interest of the national soybean association. A rededication service will be conducted Sunday morning at the Willshire, 0., Methodist church. The edifice has been remodelled and redecorated the past few weeks, including the adding of new front loors, the gift of Heber Bowen in memory of his mother. The Rev. and Mrs. A. C. E. Mr. and Mrs.- Oscar Koeneman are the parents of a baby girl, bom at 3:04 a.ni. today at the Adams county memorial hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces. A baby boy was born to Mt. and Mrs. Walter Eix at 1:34 a.m. today at the local hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Magsanen are parents of a son, born this morning at 1:10 o’clock at the Adams county hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 7% ounces. A 6 pound, 3 ounce baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Arvian Habegger, Berne, at 2:17 a.m. today at the Adams county memorial hospital. He has not been named. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Mann are the parents of an 8 pound, 1% ounce baby boy, born at the local hospital at 3:17 a.m. today. He has not been named. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Banta, Geneva. are parents of a son, born at the local hospital at 6:20 o’clock Wednesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Simon are, parents of a son, weighing 8 pounds, 9% ounces, born at 10:25 a.m. Friday at the local hospital.
Troop nine of the Girl Scouts met at the home of Mrs. Durkin Wednesday. The girls filled a box which will be sent to Europe. Refreshments tvere later served. Jeanette Hahnert, scribe. The C. L. of C. chorus will have rehearsal Tuesday evening at seven thirty o’clock at the K. of C. hall. Berne Man To Direct Trinity Church Choir Berne, Nov. 20 — Leland A. Neuen, a member of the office personnel at the Winner House here, has accepted an invitation to serve as choir director at the First United Brethren church on Ninth street at Decatur. Mr. Neuen will assume his new work Wednesday evening, November 24. He will direct the choir and have charge of congregational singing on Sunday. He has also accepted an invitation to sing the tenor solos in “The Messiah" to be given by Manchester College oi December 12. A shelf of new shoes at the Salvation Army's Men’s Social Service Center, Brooklyn, N. Y., displays only one shoe in each size. These are shoes for handicapped people with one foot.
