At first reading, the liioscow an- , swer suggested that Russia would welcome the idea of four-power conversations. But a closer scrutiny revealed, in the opinion of observers here, no real change in the Russian attitude. The note said that the Soviet government thanked Lie and ' Evatt "for your efforts in the cause of reconciling existing dis-1 ferences.” It then pointed out that on Oct. 3, Russia sent notes to the U. Meyer farm west of Herne failed when Mrs. Meyer spied the! would-be thieves and yelled at them. Two men with a car and trailer stopped along the road which the Meyers farm adjoins. Several j shoats were grazing near the road. The men caught one of the pigs when Mrs. Meyer saw them. When’ and were dragging it to the car | she yelled the men dropped the pig and fled.
