ITU Asks Petition Dismissed By Court Typographical Union Asks For Dismissal Indlanapolh, Hepi 17 —(UPi — The AFL Typographical Union today asked a federal Judge to dismiss a government petition demanding that the union lie cited (or contempt of court. The union asked dismissal in a motion filed by ITU counsel three day* before the date of a hearing in U. S. district court here on the government petition filed by the national lalarr relations board The NLRB general counsel. Robert N Denham, charged iu the petition Hits! Aug. 25 that , the union and four <>t its top officers disobeyed the Taft-Harth-y law and thereby violated an Injunction issued last March by I Judge Luther M Swygert. Denham charged that the ITU has continued to demand a closed | shop in contract* with newspaper I publit'iiers. even though the TaftHartlev law ban* such contracts. He also accused the union of trying to shiest ep the law l>y continuing strikes against newspaper* In Chicago and other cities.
