Flash Flood Drives Many From Homes No Casualties In Ohio This Morning IjncMlw. <).. July 22 (UP)— Between four and five thousand persons were driven from their home* here early today by a flaxli flood of the Hoeklna river. The Red Croat! dleaater service said there were no casulatles and "everything was under control," although there was several thou sand dollars worth of damage Most of the residents prepared to return to their homes a few hours later. Kenneth Kerr, Red Cross chief for this area, said the water started rising about 11: 3ti p tn. EST. and reached its peak about 2:30 a.m. Red Cross state headquarters in Columbus was alerted shortly after 4:3# am. but the call was cancelled within 30 minutes by local authorities. Kerr said provision was made quickly for the people driven from their homes and they were fared for in the local armory. He said only one house was damaged extensively by the water but that a bridge over V. S. route 22 was carried downstream ami had not been located yet.
