Surviving are <wo sons. Vern Uhrick of Berne route 2 and Edward of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren: two slaters. Mrs. Isabel Uhrick of Dunkirk and Mrs. David Springer of near Anderson, and one brother. ' John Brandyberry of Jonesboro. Ark. July 9 — (UPI — Harry G Neff today was appointed Anderson city attorney in the fight against gambling. Mayor G. lister MacDonald said Nelson Bohannon resigned as attorney because of the "press of personal bueineas." The resignation followed in the wake of a recent administration shakeup in which a detective captain was arrested after leaving an alleged gambling establishment. The anti-gambling decree applied to slot machines and other games and included all private clvba and lodges. Two other Madlaon county cities, Alexandria and Elwood, also have declared war on gambling. The General Education Board, of the I'nlted States was chartered by Cotigres in 1903.

Missionary Jug Breaking Service Special Service At Missionary Church The annual missionary jug breaking service will bo held at the Missionary church, corner of Tenth and Dayton streets. Sunday evening at 7:80 o'clock. The children will bring their own missionary Jugs which they have had during the past year and break them so that the money may bo taken and given to the support of the missionaries' children in the foreign fields, in this way children have a very definite part in the missionary work. This hae beer, the manner of child ren’s giving in the missionary Church association in the past years. Last year children of the MCA gave over 114.765 in this way. Ind., July 9 — (UP) Wabash railroad officials visited the modest home of Edward Bredemeyer. 13, today and presented him with a lion bond as a reward for preventing a derailment of the Detroit Arrow. F. C. Flynn, superintendent of the Mon'peller, O„ division of the Wabash railroad gave the bond to Edward and a |SO bond each to his mother and to Mrs Marion Burkholder, a neighbor. Edward detected a broken rail on June 29 Just a few minutes before the Arrow was to pass over the tracks near his house. They hurried to Mrs. Burkholder's and called the Wabash ticket office. The city of Evansville. Indiana, located on the Ohio river, is an Important shipping center.
