O. Wabash River Levee Proves Its Worth Berne, July 3. The Wabash river levee built south of Beßrne a few months ago proved its worth yiis week during the heavy rain. Farmers In the area state that hundreds of acres of crops which would orinartly have been "drowned out" during heavy rains as experienced this week, were not harmed Water on the south side of the levee was seven feet deep in fields but on the north side there were just ordinary puddles in fields. The large pump was kept going one night and about two full days. If the crops' which would ordinarily have been lost mature this year, the extra profit wil pay a large portion of the lost of the dike, farmers said Autos Sideswipe At intersection Damage totalling 1150 was reIMirted shortly after midnight when an automobile driven by Glenn Matticks of Williamsfield.
