Taft-Dewey Hookup I Charged By Stassen Says Huge Fund Is Expended In Oregon Portland, Ore., May 20— (UP)— Harold E. Stassen charged on the eve nt the Oregon primary today that an "eastern combination of Taft-Dewey force*" had spent 1250.000 to beat him in the state Gov. Thomas E. Dewey of New York promptly denied the charge Both Dewey and Stassen were scheduled to return to Portland today for last minute speeches before Oregon voter* cast ballot* to-1 morrow for the state’s 12 delegates to the GOP national convention. Stassen, speaking in Astoria last night, charged that Dewey and Sen. Robert A. Taft had combined force* in "an all-out attempt to demonstrate that our more liberal policies, our program for the west, our foreign policy do not have the support of people which the earlier primaries and the national opinion showed that we have."
