S.‘ MEETS RECENTLY The meeting of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Monroe Methodist church was held recently in the church annex, with thirty-three members and one guest in attendance. The meeting opened with the piano prelude, by Irene Winteregg. and group singing, led by Hena Hendrick*. The spiritual life and prayer were given by Mrs. W. L. Hail, followed by a duet, sung by Mrs. Harold Schwartz and Mrs. Homer Winfaregg. The lesson study, entitled 'The Earth and Its Increast." was presented by the leader, Mrs. Paul Bahtier. Mrs. John Floyil and Mrs. George Snyder also gave some interesting highlights on their tripe to Florida. The hostesses, Mrs. Eva Brewster, Mrs. Flossie Brandy berry. Mrs. Jessie Ray and Mrs. Rena Hendricks, served lovely refreshment* at a later hour. ART EXHIBIT SHOWN AT WOMAN'S CLUB MEETING Mrs. Milton Swearingen presided at the regular meeting of the Decatur Woman s club held last evening In the library. During the brief business meeting solemn tribute was paid to Miss Grace Coffee, a memlier of the Dramatic section of the club, and for many years an active worker in the club. Mrs. Gerald Durkin was in charge of the service. , The program, sponsored by ths Art section, consisted of a descriptive review by Mrs. J. E. Morris of eleven paintings from the state organization of Tri Kappa sorority, which are also on display at the Decatur public library Tuesday. Striker Is Local Entrant Miss Kristine Striker, student at Decatur high school, and local entry In the national Knights of Pythias Bheech contest, presented her speech at a meeting of the Decatur lodge of that organization; Monday night.
