Over 62,000 Enrolled In Indiana Colleges Men Students Far Outnumber Women Lafayette. Ind.. Jan. 10 —(UP)— Figures released by the federal security agency today showed that 62.686 students were attending Indiana schools of higher education on Oct. 1. Men students outnumbered women more than three to one — 47,431 to 15,255. The enrollment report, which included 39 Indiana schools, showed I there were 31, GOS ex-servicemen, and 458 women veterans going to i colleges in the etate. Slightly more than half of the total enrollment, 33,003, represented students attending Indiana's three biggest universities, Purdue, Notre Dame and Indiana University. His office will be closed* that day. o 106,000 Persons Placed In Jobs Indianapolis, Jan. 19 —(UP) — The Indiana state employment service reported today it placed more than 106,000 persons in jobs during 1947. Director Noble R. Shaw said 32,000 of them were veterans. Shaw reported that the ISES placed nearly as many people in jobs last year as it did in 1946, despite a decrease in applicants seeking jobs.
