Abandoned Auto Is Towed Into Garage A 1938 Pontiac auto was towed to a local garage today under orders of sheriff Herman Bowman when tlie sheriff found the car apparently abandoned on U. S. 224, west of the Erie railroad tracks. The vehicle was on the right of way. Plates on the auto had been issued for a Ford auto to Claude Terhune. Bluffton, investigation by the sheriff revealed. Officers Os Church Assume New Duties Officers Installed At Zion Reformed Newly elected officers of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church here have assumed their duties, it was announced today by the Rev. William Feller, church pastor. These include: Edward Jaberg and Noah A. Arnold, elders; 'Edgar Gerber. Albert Brushwiller, S. E. Leonardson, Rufus Kirchhofer and Herman von Gunten, deacons; O. L. Kirsch, trustee. The pastor serves as president of the congregation along with the following officers named recently:
Fred Kolter, financial secretary, appointed to succeed O. L. Frank, who resigned, and Mrs. Adolph Weidler, who serves as secretary of the congregation. The deacons, elders and the trustee were installed Sunday during ceremonies at the church. o City Os Fort Wayne Takes Over Baer Field Fort Wayne. Ind.. Jan. 13 —(UP) — The city of Fort Wayne today took over Baer Field fiom the war assets administration who in turn had just received it from the United States district engineers. With the changeover. Contrary to popular belief, the Fort Wayne toil lines of the local company do not follow U.S. 27, although some rural lines do for quite a distance, but are strung along the river road through Poe. Greatest damage on this line occurred north of Poe, where threearm poles carried 28 strands of wire, criss-crossed in that peculiar fashion, necessary to afford more telephone conversations than there are wires. Mr Ehinger said that some hope had been held service on that toll line could be restored within 10 days, but that adverse weather may delay the date.
