Commies Whip Ohio Team By 5024 Score Decatur’s Commodores wrapped themselves up a neat Christmas package Tuesday night, walloping Payne, 0., on the Payne court, 50 to 24. The triumph marked the Commodores’ sixth straight victory, and their seventh of the season as compared to two defeats. Decatur started slow last night, trailing at the first quarter by a 10-8 score, but with Wilder showing the way with seven points, the Commodores moved into a 20-15 lead at the halftime intermission. Limiting the Ohio quintet to two free throws in the entire third quarter, the Commodores increased their margin to a com manding lead of 19 points of 36-17 as the final eight minutes of play opened. Decatur, although using substitutes, increased the final margin in the last period to 26 points. Wilder was the top scorer for the Commodores with seven field goals and a foul toss for 15 points, while Kable and Rumschlag each tallied 10 points and Baker, back in the lineup after an illness which kept him out of last week’s Monroe tilt, contributed nine points. Drew was Payne’s leading scorer with nine points. < Last night’s game was the final tilt for the Commodores until the Adams county tournament, which will open at the Yellow Jackets gym in this city Thursday, January 8. The Commies’ scheduled game at Monroeville January 7 was set back to January 28 because of its near conflict with the county meet. Decatur FG FT TP Kahle, f 4 2 10 Baker, f 4 19 Wilder, c 71 15 J.
