The Baptist Women’s MissionL ary society met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Roy S. Johnson, with twenty one memL bers, one guest and three children in attendance. The meeting was opened with de- . votionals, read by Mrs. Hubert Jasper. Following a short business meeting, an interesting lesson was given by Mrs. Wilbur Stanley. Plajis were also made for the annual Christmas party and gift exchange. Members are requested to bring fifty cent gifts to that meeting. During the social hour, lovely refreshments were served by Mrs. Johnson, assisted by Mrs. James Strickler. LEGION AUXILIARY MEETS FRIDAY The American Legion auxiliary held its regular business meeting Friday evening at the Legion home. The unit voted twenty five dollars to the community fund. Plans were also made- for a banquet to be given in honor of all Adams county Gold Star mothers of both world wars. A splendid report was then made by Mrs. Frank Liniger on the recent president and secretary onference held in Indianapolis. Mrs. Carl Striker was awarded the attendance prize. Those from here attending the meeting of the fourth district of the auxiliary at New Haven Thursday were the Mesdames Zelma Roop, Clara Bauer, Eleanor Braun, Mabie Liniger, Luella'Tieman, Della Parrish, Marguerite Rash, Minna Sauer, Stella Spiegel, Lillian Burdg, Lola Riesen, Naomi Beitler, Mildred Darwachter and Elizabeth Aurand. ANNUAL INSPECTION OF EASTERN STAR THURSDAY The annual inspection of the De- ’ catur chapter of the Order of Eastern Star will be held at the Masonic hall next Thursday night, it was announced today by Mrs. R. A. Stucky, secretary of the local organization. Mrs. Margaret Westenbarger, worthy grand matron of the state ;of Indiana, will attend and take ■ part in the inspection, which will follow a dinner at six thirty o’clock. Reservations for the dinner should be' made not later than next Tuesday. and they may be made by calling Mrs. Stucky. Mrs. Robert Krick is worthy matron of the local chapter. All members are invited to attend’ the dinner in honor of the visiting officers and also the inspection of the lodge which will follow. The P. T. A. Study group meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed. Circles II and 111 of the W. S. C.S. of the Methodist church will meet Thursday afternoon at two thirty o’clock at the home of Mrs. R. D. Myers. Mrs. Albert Beery will be the devotional leader, and Mrs. Fred Mills will give the lesson. The meeting of the Decatur Garden club will be held at six o’clock Tuesday evening at the Boy Scout cabin, Hanna-Nuttman park. Each member is requested to bring her own table service and a covered dish. The meat, rolls and coffee will be furnished by the committee. Members are also to bring plants for the auction sale. The Ladies Shakespeare club will meet Wednesday afternoon at two thirty o’clock at the home of Mrs. Phil Macklin. The Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion (Evangelical and Reformed church will meet at the home of Mrs. Charles Beineke Thursday afternoon at two thirty o’clock. Members are asked to bring articles for the silent auction. Mrs. Beineke will also be the leader for the afternoon. The Philalethean circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will meet Wednesday even- , ing at eight o’clock at the home of Mrs. M. F. Worthman* The Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will have a sale of baked goods and chicken-noodle i soup Saturday, November 22, beginning at ten o’clock.
