EDGAR REINKING HOSTESS TO CLUB The annual Halloween party of the Church Mothers Study club was held recently at the home of Mrs. Edgar Reinking. Mrs. Ernest Uhrick was judged best masked, and Mrs. Erman Johnson was awarded the prize for guessing the most masked members. Mrs. Paul Cummings won the contest prize. Mrs. Philip Dolby was devotional leader. The lesson from the Christian Home magazine, "Family and Bible,” was given by Mrs. Walter Elzey, and “Let Them Get It Out of their System,” a topic from the Parents magazine, was reviewed by Mrs. David Downs.

MRS. GEORGE BUCKLEY HOSTESS TO CIRCLE , The Philalethean circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church met at the home of Mrs. George Buckley Wednesday evening for its regular meeting. Mrs. William Sanders gave an interesting review of the first chapter of the study book “Portrait of a Pilgrim.” Mrs. Adolph Weidler conducted the short business meeting, at which time plans were made to have a silent auction sale at .the next meeting. During the social hour, delicious refreshments_were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Walter Cable. ENTERTAINS WITH BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. James Murphy. Jr., entertained with a birthday party Thurs- ♦ y in observance of the fourth anniversary of her daughter, Mary Kathryn, and the seventy-second anniversary of Mrs. James Murphv, Sr. Halloween decorations were used throughout the rooms, and a huge birthday cake centered the serving table. Guests attending were Mrs. Joe Murphy and children, Michael Marilyn and Nancy, Mrs. Lawrence Beal and children, Patty and Billy, Barbara Jo Forrer, Charlene and Bobbie Murphy and Mrs. William Schumacher. PRESBYTERIAN LADIES AID SOCIETY MEETS The Ladies Aid (society of the First Presbyterian church was entertained Thursday afternoon at ,the home of Mrs. Roy Runyon, with members of the October section i as hostesses. I, The devotional leader, Mrs. R. S. Burnett, used as her subject, "Great Hymns of Christian Faith,” reading verses from psalm one hundred and ninety eight. Several hymns were then reviewed, after which Mrs. Engeler led the group in 'The Lord’s prayer. Plans were made during the business meeting for promoting the work of the society. A discussion followed on needed equipment for the church kitchen. At the close of the meeting,,th® twenty four members and a guest. Miss Eva Acker of California, were invited to the dining room where refreshments were served, with Mrs. R. S. Burnett and Mrs. Stewart McMillen presiding at the tea table. SUSAN MAYCLIN OBSERVES BIRTHDAY Mrs. J. C. Mayclin entertained with a birthday party at her home on North Seventh street Wednesday afternoon for her daughter, Susan, who observed her fourth anniversary. As each of the guests arrived, they were directed to gifts which provided the entertainment for the afternoon. Miss Susan received many lovely gifts. Black cats, gay pumpkin faces, and the colots, orange and black, aidfd in giving the room a Halloween atmosphere. Prizes were awarded to Pat Gass and Germaine Hackman for the best masked. The Rev. Owen Krehbiel officiated, with the Yager funeral home conducting the services. The infant's father is coach at the Jeffer-
