a picnic lunch was served by Mrs. Uhrick, assisted by Mis. Parry McRae. Miss Uhrick was the recipient, of many lovely gifts. The entertaining roejms were decorated in keeping with the Halloween season and a lighted birthday cake centered the beautifully appointed table. Those attending were Kay Poling, of Willshire, O.; Naney Porter, Becky Maddox, Helen Bolinger, Jane and Marilou Marlene Snyder, Judy and Jay Gunther, Larry and Denny Karjola, Janice and Sharon Kreischer, Mary Cummings, Marjorie York and David and Ann Uhrick. MRS. GERALD DURKIN HOSTESS TO CLUB The annual Halloween party of the Decatur Home Economics club was held at the home of Mrs. Gerald Durkin Tuesday evening. Mrs. Elmer Anspaugh was judged best masked. Fortune telling, games and contests were enjoyed throughout the evening and prizes were won by Mrs. Flnry Adler, Mrs. Elmer Anspaugh, Mrs. Robert Gay and Mrs. Ora McAlhaney. Mrs. John Metzger was awarded the door prize. At a later hour refreshments were served by Mrs. Durkin, assisted by Mrs. Ralph Stanley, Mrs. Rex Shull, Mrs. Earl ißlackburn and Mrs. Blanch Elzey. WILLING WORKERS j CLASS IN MEETING Six members and two guests attended the meeting of the Willing Workers class of the Monroe Methodist church held Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. J. A. Hahnert. The meeting was opened with prayer by the presiden* and group singing. Scripture was read by Mrs. Hahnert and Mrs. E. W. Busche led the group in prayer. Following the brief business meeting readings were given by Mrs. Hahnert and Mrs. Busche. During the social hour, contests were conducted by Mrs. John Floyd and lovely refreshments were served by the hostess and her assistant , Mrs. John Crist. ROOT TOWNSHIP CLUB OBSERVES GUEST DAY Guest day was observed by the Root Township Home Economics club in regular meeting Tuesday afternoon in the social looms of the Zion Lutheran church. Mrs. Gerald Grandstaff, club president, welcomed the guests. Mrs. E. W. Busche spoke briefly concerning the club, and Mrs. Raymond Harrison, chalk artist, entertained the group. Games were then played and prizes awarded the winners. The door prize was won by Mrs. W. R. Stanley. Members and their guests were . seated at a V-shaped table, beaut-j ifully decorated with tall seasonal tapers and bouquets of mixed ( flowers. In addition to this feature, various booths and stands are to be erected in the gymnasium for the entertainment of both children and adults. Five - cent tickets will be sold at the door and may be used at all concessions. Hundreds of the tickets have already been distributed throughout the Lincoln school. Mr. Lane said today that the festival will be held “rain or shine,” even if the parade should be postponed because of inclement weather. Proceeds from the event will be used by the Lincoln PTA for the purchase of a movie projector for the school. PYTHIAN NEEDLE CLUB IN REGULAR MEETING The Pythian Needle club met Monday evening following Temple meeting for its regular monthly meeting. Mrs. Mabel Striker conducted the brief business meeting, after which the guests were invited to the dining room and seated at long tables decorated with black and orange crepe paper. A huge basket of fruit was used as the centerpiece, surrounded with autumn leaves. Witches and jack o’ lanterns were used in the hall decorations. Bingo was played and prizes were awarded the various winners. The committee in charge included Velma Porter, Ellen Butler, Mae Butler, Vera Gause and Gaylie Bittner. GAMMA NU SORORITY TO SPONSOR DANCE A public dance will b.c sponsored by members of Gamma Nu sorority Saturday night from nine to one o'clock at the K. of P. home.
