Driving Course At Berne High School Berne high school, today became the 75th high school in the Chicago Motor Club's territory to complete arrangements for a course in driver education and training, Charles M. Hayes, president of the club, announced. Contractual agreements were signed by E. M. Webb, superintendent of schools, and Palmer Moser, of the A. J. Moser and Co., who will loan a new Ford sedan to the school without charge for behind the wheel instruction. Course instructor will be Ned L. Shuck, w-ho will attend an intensive short course in driver training for high school teachers on November 10 at Purdue university. • o Miss Helen Warvel To Seek National Office Indianapolis, Oct. 23 — Indiana Youijg Democrats are to have 'a candidate for office in the national convention of the Young Democrats of America in Cleveland. 0., Nov., 13-15. Miss Helen Warvel, Indianapolis executive secretary of the Indiana organization, will be presented as a candidate for national vice president in the convention which is the first to be held by the national group since pre-war years. Miss Warvel, in addition to being executive secretary for Indiana, also is national committeewoman from Indiana.
Loss Os $90,000 Is Reported By Surgeon St .'Petersburg, Fla., Oct. 23 (UP)— Dr. Abe Gross, 59-year-old retired surgeon from Hartford. Conn., today reported $90,000 in cash, jewels and securities missing from his safety deposit box. Police began i search for Dr. Gross’ 49-year-old personal nurse, E. Nielson, who he said had been missing with his automobile since Tuesday.
