0 Injured Woman's Condition Better The condition of Mrs. O. K. Baker. of this city, injured yesterday in an auto accident, was reported improved today. X-rays disclosed that the local lady suffered no fractures. She is expected to he released from the Adams county memorial hospital within the next day or two.

Seek Six Millions From Garsson Firms Government Suing For Alleged Claims Chicago. Oct. 3 — (UP) —The federal government sought $6.000.000 today from two firms connected with the sensational war fraud case involving former Rep. Andrew J. May, D.. Ky., and Murray and Henry Garsson. The government filed claims for that amount before Wallace Streeter, bankruptcy referee, yesterday. The government said the Batavia Metal Products Corp., and its subsidiary. Challenge Corp.. owed it $6,000,000 in claims. Both companies are under reyfganizat'on under the bankruptJcy act. The government claimed that Batavia owed $5,183,397. The collector of internal revenue claimed $3,310,077 in income taxes and penalties from 1943 to 1945. Assistant U. S. district attorney John P. Lu’inski claimed $1,675.621 due for contract termination ii> connection with chemical welfare production for the army, and $3,830 for contract termination under the public housing act. The latter amount pertained to housing built by Batavia. Lulinski also filed claim for $193,869 ! allegedly due the government for | false claims in contract settle- . ment. The government also claimed , $607,000 in various federal taxes I from the Challenge subsidiary. o . Arraign Lad In Juvenile Court > —— I A 16-year Old Adams county lad 1 was to be arraigned in juvenile » court today before Judge Earl B. 1 Adams on theft charges. The lad was apprehended several days ago by sheriff Herman Bowman, who charged him with the theft of a storage battery, fog lights and tools from the tractor of a neighbor.
Mrs. Letha Schwarz Dies In Michigan ■«. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at Kalamazoo, Mich, for Mre. Letha A. Schwarz 86, well known in this city, who died at a nursing home in that city following a long illness. Mrs. Schwarz was born May 13, 1861. in Bloomington, 111., daughter of Riley and Elizabeth Congleton. She was a resident of Chicago until 1922, when she moved to Kalamazoo. Her husband, Edward Schwarz, died in 1922. Surviving are a son. Caude of Kalamazoo, and two grandsons, Ralph of Buchanan, Mich., and Peter of Chicago. Graveside services and burial j will take place at the Foreet Home cemetery in Chicago. Mrs. Schwarz was related to a number of Decatur people including the late W. A. Lower. Homer Lower and Mrs. ‘ Fred Linn. The largest Indian reservation [ in New York State is located near' Gowanda, Cattaragus County.
