CIO To Open Cham Os Grocery Stores Detroit, Sept. 18 —(UP) — The CIO United Auto workers planned ; today to open a chain of grocery I stores in Michigan to sell foodstuffs , and other staples to its members ■ at cost. UAW president Walter P. Reuther announced the plan last night and said the stores would be opened in warehouses in Detroit. Flint. Lansing. Pontiac and other Michigan cities. In addition to foodstuffs, the stores will sell oil, tires, gloves and other items.
