The agency, in a dispatch from Kalgan. said the Communists set fire to the Parish’s 80-year-old church and seminary. The raid was said to have taken place Aug. 30 at Yangchiaping. Raiders were believed to have been remnants of a Communist force driven out of Chahar province last spring, Central News said. The agency also said the fire spread to the town and wiped out more than 400 civilian houses. Damage to the church was said to have been more than $200,000 (U. S.). The raiders also looted books and valuable papers while “wantonly destroying’’ others, the agency claimed in a meager dispatch. Meanwhile Nanking dispatches said Gen.
