inserts of chantilly lace extending from the yokes through the full length of the ekirts. Matching lace edged their fingertip veils, attached to tiaras of seed pearls. They carried red and white roses with rose buds knotted into white satin ribbon streamers. The rhinestone j bracelets they wore were gifts from their respective bridegrooms. Miss Betty Downing, cousin of the brides, served Arlene a« rnaid-of-honor, and bridemaids were Mrs. Kenyon Wherry, cousin of the brides, and Mrs. Kenneth Ross. Little Mary Louise Dellinger, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl in a white taffeta gown with a matching picture hat and she carried a basket of flowers. The ring bearer was Donnie Zimmerman. Miss Janet Ainsworth, sister of the brides, served Ilene as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Norbert Engleman and Mrs. Herbert Bauer. Little Margaret Ellen Ainsworth was flower girl, dressed in a white taffeta gown and matching picture hat and carrying a basket of flowers. The ring bearer was Bobby Ainsworth. Ralph Christensen was best man and George Bostick and William North were ushers for the Dellin-ger-Ainsworth vows. Mr. Hardsity chose Norbert Engleman as his best man and ushers were Carl Allison and William Stein, Jr. After the ceremony, a reception for three hundred guests was held in the church social room. Those serving were the Misses Rowena and Patty Dellinger, Marilee Hardisty, Rosanna Knittie, Mrs. Dean McOmber and Mrs. Clifford Kiehl. Union returning from honeymoons in Wisconsin and Minnesota, the Dellingers will reside in Convoy and the Hardistys will live in Waynedale. Both brides are employed by the General Electric Co. in Fort Wayne. PHYLLIS MCFARLAND TO WED ON OCTOBER 12 Announcement was made today by Mr. and Mrs. T. Gregg McFarland, 903 West Monroe street, of the engagement and approaching marriage of their only daughter, Phyllis, to Louis Zwick, youngest son of Mrs. Anna Zwica, route 1. The wedding will take place at | three thirty o’clock on October 12 at the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren, with the Rev. F. H. Willard officiating. Miss McFarland has chosen Mrs. Leona Zwck to be her matron-of-honor, and Mrs. Francile Bulte- ■ meier and Miss Lois Chronister, bridesmaids. Little Kay Wynn will serve as flower girl. The bride-elect is a graduate of Decatur high school and is employed at the Decatur Industries. Mr. Zwick graduated from Hoagland high school and the Industrial Training institute at Chicago, 111. He then served four and a half years in the armed forces and is i now employed at the Fort Wayne General Electric Co. ! BETTER HOMES CLUB IN REGULAR MEETING The Monroe Better Homes club met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Doyle Hoffman, with fifteen members in attendance. Mrs. Elmo Stucky conducted the meeting, opened with the groupsinging “Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet,” led by Mrs. Weldon Stucky. The club creed was repeated in unison, after which Mrs. Ed Rich conducted the devotionals. Roll call was answered with each member exhibiting old China. During the business meeting, the president appointed the following to the nominating committee: Mrs. Erwin Stucky, Mrs. Hiram Wittwer, Mrs. Raymond Crist, Mrs. Doyle Hoffman and Mrs. Otis Gould. Members were also urged to prepare their canned goods, hooked rugs and handcraft to be exhibited on achievement day. These articles are to be turned in to Mrs. Paul ’ Lobsiger, Mrs. Doyle Hoffman, Mns. W’eldon Stucky or Mrs. Otto Longenberger by October 1. Plans were ! also made to have a lunch stand at the Centennial celebration in Monroe. The lesson on “How to Use Pressing Equipment” was then given by Mrs. Weldon Stucky. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Lawrence , Ehrsam and Mrs. Jack Haney. ENTERTAIN WITH SHOWER RECENTLY The Misses Louise Boerger and Stella Hoile united in entertaining with a miscellaneous shower at the latter’s home recently, for Mise Laverne Busick, bride-elect of September 13. Bingo was played with the prizes for each game being given to the honored guest. The bride-elect was presented with a lovely corsage, and was the recipient of many lovely gifts. Miss Nancy Bell, who was graduated from the academy at Sullins College, Bristol, Va., last May, will return to school for her college work. She will leave September 15. Arthur N. Wednesday. Play will begin at noon, with both lunch and dinner being served at the club house. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Passwater and son. Kirby Dale, of Van Nuys, Calif, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Delton Passwater. Mr. and Mrs. Delton Passwater and daughter. Fern, are spending the weekend at the Robert Passwater cottage on Big Long lake.
