HOME ECONOMICS CLUB HAS ANNUAL PICNIC The Decatur Home Economics club members and their* families enjoyed a picnic at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Price Wednesday evening. Forty membens and guests and ten children a pot-luck supper at small tables arranged on ” the spacious lawn. Mrs. Minnie Teeple offered prayer. A fishing pond was enjoyed by the children, while bingo was played by the adults, with prizes being awarded the various winners. Mrs. Gerald Durkin conducted a silent auction sale." During the brief business meeting, reports of the recent homemakers retreat were made by Mrs. Charles Feasel and Mie. Minnie Teeple. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. O. K. Baker. Mrs. R. C. Hersh and Mre. Grover Levy. CIRCLE ENJOYS POT-LUCK SUPPER The Philathean circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed I church enjoyed a pot-luck supper 1 recently at Hanna Nuttman park. Mrs. Adolph Weidler, chairman, conducted the short business meeting, and read the poem “Take Time to Pray.” Hostesses weige Mrs. Noah Roth and Mrs. 'Ed Jaberg. s . WOMEN OF .MOOSE’ MEET THURSDAY The Women of the Moose held its regular meeting last evening, with ritual practice following the business meeting. The door prize was won by Catherine Stalter. The next meeting will be hel.d September 11, with foftnal initiation. The C. L. of C. will have its regular meeting Tuesday evening at seven thirty o’clock at the hall. The C. L. of C. chorus will have rehearsal at eight o’clock Wednesday evening. The V. F. W. auxiliary will meet Tuesday evening af> seven thirty o'clock at the hall. The junior girls of the American Legion auxiliary wifi hrfve installation services Tuesday evening at ceven thirty o’clock at the Legion home. All members are urged to attend. The Pleasant Dale Ladies Aid society will have an all day meeting Thursday at the church. Mrs. Lloyd Clouser and Mrs. O. V. Dilling will be hostesses.. The Presbyterian missionary society will meet at the home of Mrs. Jesee W. Rice Thursday afternoon at two thirty o’clock. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs. J. H. Burroughs, Mrs. C. A. Dugan and Miw. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Collier of Geneva, are the parents of a son, born at 1:23 o’clock this morning at the Adams county hospital. He has not been named. f 0 _ > Stoners Will Visit Soldier Son's Grave Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Stoner, of Chicago, sailed yesterday on the S. S. Queen Mary from New York fok Southampton, England, They will visit the grave of their son. Herbert H. Stoner, who met death with American troops in November, 1944. They will return to the states during the latter part of October. Mr. and Mrs. Stoner visited here recently with the former’s sister,* Mns. Arthur D. Suttles.
