A basket dinner was served at n<s>n to the one hundred and one pemons present. Officers elected for the coming year were: president, Orley Blauvelt. vice president, Earl Blauvelt; secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Glenn Gleger. Those attending from here were Mr. and Mrs. William Schumacher, Mr. and Mrs. James Murphy. Jr., and family, and Mr. and Mrs. I.aurcnce Beal and family. i The Monroe Better Homes club and the Good Nelghltors cluh will entertain the 4-H club members at a picnic Tuesday evening at six thirty o'clock at the Lehman park in Berne. The Women oi Ute Moose will have their regular meeting Thursday evening at eight o'clock at the Moose home. The executive committee will meet at seven thirty. The Happy Hustlent 4-H club will have a skating party Thursday. Members are asked to meet at the home of Mrs. Amos Stauffer at one thirty o'clock. A called meeting of' the Zion Lutheran Missionary society will be held this evening at seven thirty o'clock at the home of Mrs. Robert Freeby. Mcl’heefers and children left today for Muskogee. Okla., where they will visit Rev. M< Pheeters parents and other relatives for three weeks. His family will move to that city this week. The R. Earl Peters residence In Fort Wayne was robbed and ransacked while the family was spending a f**w weeks at their Lake Jamc-s cottage The extent of the robbery lias not been ascertained but the damage was considerable. J. J. Helm of Miami. Fla . sends it,c a copy of the I tally News showing pictures of a cloud burst which occurred there the morning of August 7th, when 3.09 inches of rain fell within three hours. It made lakes out of residential streets and running rivers out of main thoroughfares. The pictures show a catring of automobiles with water up to the floor boards.
