Mr. and Mrs. Lucerne McDonald, of Gary, visited at the Cal Mag ley home Saturday. In the Van Wert common pleas court for the year ending June 30. 242 cases were filed, of which 120 were divorce suits. The Harry Essex residence at Five Points is being repainted by Noah Roth and son. Attorney Lewis Smith visited at Hamilton I-ake over the weekend. George Flanders will leave Wednesday for Midland. In the event the father cannot sign she application, then the mother or legal guardian may do It. Applicants under 18 years of aK« must comply with this regulation, the bureau emphasized. Industrial Sugar Rationing Ended No Appropriations Made By Congress Washington, July 28 - (UP) The department of agriculture ended rationing of Industrial sugar at noon today' because “congress failed to appropriate the fund” necessary to (tmtlnue the program. The department had asked for $710,000 to carry out its rationing and price controls until Oct 31. But congress trimmed this request down to $210,000. Sugar was the last farm commodity to remain under rationing. The department said. however, that it still was holding on to sugar price controls, and that sugar Inventory controls have been set up. The department said that Its sugar rationing administration was being liquidated immediately. “Most of the employes are being dismissed today without the usual 30 day notices of dismissal, as sufficient funds have not been made available to continue paying their salaries for this period." it said. Sugar price controls which will continue in effect until Oct. 31. 1948, and inventory controls will be handled by the department's sugar branch of the production and marketing administration. The new Inventory controls limit sugar inventories for any person, other than household users, to a maximum of 2.000 lbs., limit industrial or institutional users to 140 percent of the quantity used during the previous year and limit wholesalers and retailers to quantities sold by them during the preceding calendar month. With the lifting of rationing contrdTS all suspension orders relating to sugar are revoked and all such proceedings now pending are terminated, the department said. 0 Rockford Youth Is Charged As Speeder fxtwell Deitsch, 20. of Rockford. Bernard Coffee Dies At Phoenix, Arizona Ed A. Bosse and Mrs. Raymond Kohne have received a message tolling of the death of their cousin. Bernard Coffee, at Phoenix. Ariz.. where he has resided the past quarter century. Mr. Coffee died Sunday and the funeral services and burial will be held at Phoenix. The only child of Peter and Marie Coffee, he was born and reared here and resided here until a young man. Hammond Restaurant Is Robbed Os $3,000 Hammond. Ind.. July 28 —(UP) Two men held up a Hammond restaurant today and escaped with about $3,090. Ix>uls Clued, manager of the Tuscana case, said the men invaded his office, flourished guns and took the money yesterday's receipts — from Ills desk. Then they bound him anil fled in a black sedan. Clued freed himself and notified police.
