who received the Hat of the probable number of farm aceldeota for every eounty of the atate from F. R. Wlllsey, farm safety specialist on the staff of Purdue University, who Is leading the campaign in Indiana to reduce the number of farm mishaps and their attendant suffering and loss of life or property. The figure for this county Is based on a survey made last year In Wayne county, where accurate data was compiled by the Wayne county aafety committee to give an accurate picture of the accident rate. The number of accidents expected in this county was computed by ascertaining the number and else of farms and then comparing them with slmiltar data for Wayne county. In one year Wayne county folks reported a total of 40k accidents, accidents that were bad enough to require medical aid. cause propei'y loss or loss of time. Mr. Wlllsey points out that many farm accidents can be prevented by attention to accident hazards about the home and farmstead, and making a real effort to reduce the minor and major mishaps which beset every farm family. 0 GGod has made happiness depend upon finding our life in Him on a spiritual level. 0 Many persons are not happy because they seek happiness on the level of material things. 0 One need not endorse all that another person does in order to believe in his sincerity.

Asks Mayor Aid In Locating Relative German Burgomaster Writes Mayor Stults Mayor John B. Stults as "burgomaster” of Decatur has received a letter from the burgomaster at Dortmund • Westphalia, British Zone, Germany, asking his help and that of organizations in searching for a German who "emigrated" to this city. The letter, written by Amo Schumann, as burgomaster of the German city, asks for help in searching for an uncle, "professor Jacob Wilhelm," but adds an appeal for food. The letter Is typewritten In English—but in the customary confused native German interpretation. For Instance, the writer declares that "Caused by the bad time I tried to have news from him. hut the letter returned with addressee unknown.” It continues, "may I ask you. herewith, to search for him or his descendents. Perhaps by the municipality you have occasion to find them out. In this case, please send this letter to him. If nobody may be found out. 1 should be very much obliged to you. to give my letter to any organization which perhaps send us a little food parcel. "In later times, if possible. I shall return your kindness. W* feel so hungry that this Is our last hope to get help. Judge by yourself, please if my desire is unauthorized." He then lists the "portions" of the previous four weeks as follows: butter. 3 oz.; sugar. 1 lb.; maize, 1 lb.; bread. 11 lbs.; meat, 5 oz.: cheese, 3 6z. He declares that they have no potatoes, no fat and that they secure their food, •by standing In long queues. "Plosse !help us. Tn anticipation wl thaqk you very ihUeh for yotir Wndness/' he concludes. An ei-servlceman, who read the letter, asserted that the above foods include only those items given Germans by the Americans and Allies, however, and do not include any raised or purchased themselves. Several former residents by the name of Wilhelm are known in Decatur, but the Jacob W'llhelm referred to in the letter could not be identified late today.
