Kansas City Pitcher Hurls Perfect Game By'United Pres* Carl Derose. Derose hurled the first perfect game since the league was organised In 1902. retiring 27 Minneapolis' batters in order. The score was 6 to 0. After the game, the husky. 6 foot 2«4 Inch pitcher remained in Kansas City for an arm operation while hi* teammates left on a northern swing of the circuit. In other games, Columbus took both ends of a double header from Indianapolis, 9 to 1 and 3 to 2, Toledo beat Ixntlsvllle. 8 to 6. and Milwaukee defeated St. Paul, 3 to 2. Blues manager Bill Meyer took a chance on starting Derose, who’s suffering from a sore arm. against the Millers at Kansas City.. Cliff Mapes paced the Blues' attack with a two-run homer In the seventh inning. Lowly Columbus ambushed the Indians at Indianapolis to drop them Into third place. The Red Birds put together a 11-hlt pounding to give Charlie Stanceu an easy victory in the first game.
