C. S. of the Methodist church met at the home of Mrs. Ward Calland Thursday afternoon for their monthly meeting. The meeting was opened by the circle chai man. Mrs O. G. Baughman. Devotional .leader was Mrs. Leigh Bowen, using as her topic ''Children May Flourish.” Mrs. Walter Krick reviewed the lesson, "Welfare of Children." During the brief business session, several calls were reported. Twenty six members and two children were present. Mrs. Calland wan assisted by Mrs. George Flanders. Mrs. G. L. Brayton and Mrs. R. A. Kraft Foods Employes Honored For Service Two employes of the local Kraft Foods company have been hon<»red with awa ds for their years of nervine, It was announced today. Ralph H. Burke, plant superintendent, was presented with a certificate and pin after serving io years with tin- company, while Mrs. Richard Deinlnger was given similar award- for 15 years service. She ie employed as payroll and general office clerk. The awards were made by John H. Kraft, pres ident of the company.

June 27 — (UP)-— Prospective Hoosier college- students were told today that at least lx of the state's colleges and universities were still accepting applications for fall terms. At a meeting ot admissions officers of Indiana Institutions at Purdue university. W. E. I'mbrelt, • clary of admissions at De Pauw, and assistant registrar W. H. Strain of Indiana university said that more than 3,000 openings in freshmen (lasses remain unfilled. Strain said that only four of the lo schools polled Indicated they could encourage no additional applications for eirtdlment. He said, however, that applicants at colleges already filled would be advised through a cooperative system of schools which still lias openings.
