ROOT TOWNSHIP CLUB HAS MEETING Tuesday afternoon, inembem of the Root Township Home Economics club met at the home of Mrs. F unk Singleton for their regular meeting. Mrs. Welson Beltz and Mrs. Jesse Singleton were the assisting hostesses. An Interesting report of the recent conference held at Purdue was given by M.s. Herbert Banning and Mrs. Robert Johnson. The lesson on pressing and equipment followed. given by the leaders. Mrs. Lee Flemming and Mre. Banning. During the social hour, refreshments were served by the hostesses to the twenty five members and two guests present. The July meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Richard Mostvi. GLENN HILL COTTAGE SCENE OF CLASS OUTING Twenty four members of the Progressive Workers class enjoyed an outing at the Glenn Hill cottage at Rome City Saturday. Herman Sautbine. president, conducted a brief business meeting. after which a delicious supper wm served and u social evening was enjoyed. PYTHIAN NEEDLE CLUB HAS POT LUCK SUPPER The regular meeting of the Pythian Needle club was held Monday evening at the K. of P. home fidlowing Temple. A delicious potluck supper was served at long tables, decorated with vases of flowers and lighteil tapers. Mrs. Bessie Beehler. Mns Harriet Pollock and Mrs. Pauline Beery were in charge of the supper, and Mrs. Iva Stucky. Mrs. Ma y Ahr and Mrs. Bertha Aahbaucher were the food committee. During the brief business meeting. Mrs. Ray Stingely was elected president; Mns. Dick McConnell, vice president; Mrs. Ralph Smith, secretary, and Mrs. Glen Haulier, treasurer. Following the pot-luck supper, the members were entertained with pictures shown by Mrs. Steury of her recent trip abioad. CHURCH MOTHERS STUDY CLUB MEETS TUESDAY The final meeting of the Church Mothers Study club was held laet evening at the Methodist church, with Mrs. Clarence Rowden, Mrs Malcolm Locke. Mrs. laiweil Smith and Mrs. Mayna:d Hetrick as hostesses. The program opened with the club creed and song, followed by devotions by Mre. Francis Riisworth. Twenty eight mem tors answered roll call. Mrs. Orval Closer reviewed the lesson study from the Christian Home magazine, followed by a solo by Mrs. Philip Dolby, entitled “Trees.” Mrs. Nathan Nelson wim the accompanist. The topic from the Pa:ents magazine was given by Mrs. Vincent Parker. lively refreshments were served by the hostesses at a later hour. Fort Wayne The Legion auxiliary will have a pot-luck dinner, honoring Thelma Roop, newly elected fourth district president, Friday evening at six thiity o'clock. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Thoma fune:al home at Bluffton for George Edward Runyon 65. a machinist. He was a native of Adams county but had resided in Wells county 44 years. The wife, one brother, Noah, of Huntington. and a half • ulster. Mary Runyon of Geneva, survive. Mr. and Mrs Ed Lyons of Sara sola. Fla., visited here Tuesday. It wax a busy day for Ed who lived here 40 years ago and knew about everybody. They are on their way home from lais Angeles. Calif , where they attended the annual convention of Rotary International Mr. and Jirs. Francis Costello and sons. Joe and Tom. are enjoying a motor trip thiough the southwest.
