Moose Beals Legion Thursday Evening The Moose edged out a 1 to 3 victory over the Legion in a Decatur Softball league game Thursday night at Worthman field. Each team tallied once in the second inning Legion counted another tally in the first of the fourth but the Moose came hack with a pair In the same frame and scored what proved to lie the winning run In the fifth. Legion counted itw final run in the seventh but was halted with the tying run on base. The Lincoln Life girls of Fort Wayne blanked the Bingen girls. 11 to 0. in the exhibition opener last night. Linton limited the Bingen team to only two hits and was giuen good support to score the shutout. Legion will play Eort Wayne Post 296 in a Legion league game at 7:30 p m tonight, followed by an exhibition game between the Moose and the Celina. (>., Legion nine. Deane Dorwin, coach, announced today. Any member of the team unable to attend is asked to call Mr. Dorwin at the field Monday morning. Two games likely will be played the first of the week, possibly one later Monday afternoon following the practice period. Contracts Awarded For Star Mail Routes Arthur D. Ma-e, Portland, has been awarded the Portland -Fort I Wayne star mail route, which serI vices the Decatur post office. The contract price is 13,729. Richard A. Hott. Decatur, was awarded the largest of 10 contracts, the Muncie-Eort Wayne route at a price of 89.428. Announcement of the contracts was made by the Fort Wayne post office.
