Spray Demonstration Thursday Morning —w ■■ A 2-4-D weed spraying demonstration will be held at the Antioch church grounds at 9:30 a m , states county agent L. E. Archhold The Antioch church is located on the Washington • Kirkland township line, one mile south of ioad 224 or three miles west of Itecalur. O. C. I<ee, extension botanist, will have charge of the spraying operation*!. The spraying equipment will be furnished by the Stiefel Grain company. Mr, lx»e will also identify any plant brought to the meeting. 2-4-D will not kill grass, but will kill dandelion, buck horn, broad leaf plants, poison ivy. burdock and many other broad leaf plants. S. daily newspapers declined to an alltime low at the end of May. Thu report said the average supply of reporting newspapers was 28 days, compared with 32 days a year ago and 43 days at the end of May in 1915 The average supply at the end of May, 1941 in prewar days when delivery was fast and certain wax 36 days. The report said newsprint consumption last month rose to 3<*2,994 tonu for dailies, compared to 161,484 tons in May, 1916. and 260,827 tons in May, 1941.
