18 Ex-Servicemen Join Naval Reserve Recruiting Officer Here For Two Days A total of 18 Adams county exservicemen enlisted in the U. 8. naval reserve during the two days a recruiting officer was stationed at the city hall, it was made known last night. Edward Noonan, local factory worker and ex-army air forces sergeant, was among those who “switched" services to enter the new navy setup. He was given a rating of chief aviation machinists’s mate (A) in the navy and will be among those to take a two weeks' cruise on a navy ship this summer. A majority of the enlistments were received from World War II ex-navy veterans, the recruiting officer stated. Enlistees were given lapel emblems and naval Identification cards to carry in their possession, denoting the date of their enlistment and their ratings. Paul Brewer.
