Escaped Indiana Prisoner Caught Terre Haute. Ind.. .May I —(UP) t —Jaimw Vernon Hutchings, 27, I was to be returned to the Indiana j reformatory today where he escaped Nov. 1, 1948. while serving a 10-to-25 year sentence. Hutchings who was sentenced in Harrison county May 17, 1943, was arrested here yesterday. 0 Orders Hearing On Dismissing Jury Order Vanderburgh Court Hold Hearing — Indianapolis, .May 1 —(UP)— The Indiana supreme court ordered Vanderburgh circuit court officials today to accept a petition filed by Evansville mayor Manson Reichert for temporary dismissal of a grand jury. Chief Judge Frank E. Gilkison of the high court ordered circuit judge Nat Youngblood to bear evidence on the petition or file a re(turn in the supreme court by May 9. Ilelchart, along with city comptroller Julius Ritter and chief of police Wayne Berry, were named in indictments charging them with I misfeasance, malconduct and oppression. When Youngblood would not accept the dismissal action In which the mayor charged that the grand ■ jury was prejudiced.
