Start Enlargement Os Steury Abbatoir Approval By CPA Given Local Firm An enlargement of the Steury abbatoir. on federal road 27, has been started under approval of the civilian production administration, Calvin Steury, the company president, announced today. A structure 36 x 76, of one floor and a basement, is to be added to the present building. Mr. Steury stated. The first floor will he composed of rooms for sausage manufacturing, refrigerator and office spares The basement o( the new building will be used for storage space and ax curing rooms. Mr. Steury said that 18 men are employed there at present and upon completion of the new building the employment roster will be doubled. The new structure Is being built by Meyer Bros, construction company, of this city The abbatoir was started here a year ago and since that time has been engaged in slaughtering href and pork, purchasing livestock from local producers and commission firms. The firm has three trucks operating in Decatur. Fort Wayne and this area. County Agent Will Broadcast On May 5 Residents of this area will be interested to know that L. E. Archb<dd.
