Two Teams Are Sure Os First Semi-Final Win IndianaiKili*. Only five of the “sweet sixteen" teams still around Fort Wayne South. Muncie Burrl*. Bedford •Evansville Central and Hunting ton—have taken semifinal tourney titles Os course. Logansport and Mar ion both won state championships, and Terre Haute Garfield. South Bend Central and Shelbyville have been among the final four teams, but that was back in the day* of the 16-team finals The semi-final* were inaugu rated In 1936. the year Everett Case's Frankfort Hot Dog* swept through the northwestern semi final to the state title One of the major objections to the 16-team finals was that it placed too great a strain on the players Now the two state final hts play their last four games In spans of two a week apart South. Burris and Huntington all are in the well balanced semi final next Saturday In Muncie* big Walnut Street fieldhouse South won It first in 1938 and again in 1940 Burris took the title , in 1939 and 1942 Huntington won in 1945. That leaves Marion, the darkhorse in the semi-final this I season, as the only contestant without a semifinal crown.
