Feb. 28 Deadline To Sign Farm Plan To Receive Payment For Soil Practices Winfred L. Oerke. chairman of the Adams county AAA committee, snnounced today that February 28 Is the final date for signing a farm plan for 1947. A farm plan must be signed for each farm In order that the owner and operator may be eligible to receive payments for soil-building practices carried out In 1947 Mr. Gerke calls attention to the tact tiiat there has been 878.000 ailoted to Adams county to be paid to farmers for soil building practices in 1947. Fanners earned approximately this amouut In 1946 Boil-building practices approved for fhle coffnty are aa follows: standard and diversion terraces, sod waterways, contouring cultivated row crops and contouring drilled crops, strip-cropping, rye or sweet clover plowed under, weed eradication, tile drainage, lime stone, fertiliser used oti wheat and oats, seeded to a legume or ou pastures Mr. Gerke urges every farmer who will carry out any of the listed practices and who has not sign ed his farm plan for 1947. to come to the county AAA office before February 28 and sign up for 1947 in order that he may receive his share of the budget for Adams county — o Assumes Management Os Service Station Veruon H.
