Two One-Point Tilts In League Thursday Two of the closest, hardest fought games in the league's history were played in the Adams county independent net league Thursday night at the Pleasant Mills gym., with Hoagland and Legion Post 43 teams both coming through with one point victories. Legion eked out a 28 tj 27 overtime victory over the K. of C. in the opener. K. of C. led at the first quarter. 8 to 4. at the half. 15 to 13. and at the third perils], 19 to 15. but the legion came back in the final quarter to even the score at 24-24. then went on to win in the extra session. Ted Bolinger of the losers led both teams with 11 points, and Melchl was high for Post 43 with eight. Hoagland overcame an eightpoint third-qilarter deficit to edge out the Decatur YEW quintet, 35 to 34, in the nightcap. Hoagland piled up an 11 to 2 first quarter lead, but VFW came back to take a 17 to 14 halftime margin and was in front by 30 o 22 at the third period. Painter of the VFW was high scorer with 13 points, while three Hoagland players tallied nine points each and a fourth prayer eight. McMillen and Willshire will meet in a league game at the Lincoln gym Monday night, followed by an exhibition game by the Legion Post 43.
