Southern and far western producers. however, served notice they were unwilling to negotiate for the present. First they want the supreme court to rule on Lewis’ appeal against his contempt conviction, based on his failure to prevent she 17-day strike last November. And then they want to give lhe new con'gr«*» a chance to consider legislation outlawing union welfare funds, unionization of supervisory workers and other laltor 'tub*. set March 31 for the termination of hi* present contract with the government when lie called off the November walkout. The government is considering returning the mine* to private management April 1. However.
