Mrs. Drake, Mrs. Jess Willlam«i and Mrs. William Huffman THREE LINK CLUB MEETS TUESDAY The Rebekah Three Link dub held its annual Cltristmim party at the home of Miss Mary Reed Tuesday, with Mrs. Melvena Herd assisting. Following a short business meeting, contests were played and prizes were won by Mm. Ruth Srnltley and .Mrs. Jessie Fry. Delicious refreshments were served during the social hour at small tables lighted with tall tapers. A gift exchange dimaxed the social hour. CHRISTMAS PARTY HELD BY LADIES AID SOCIETY Mrs. Rufus Sr herry dtid Mrs. J. M. Michael were hostesses to the l-adi<H Aid roiclety of the Salem Evangelical and Reformed church of Magley at th<* liecember meeting. The meeting was conducted by the president, who also gave the scripture reading with Mrs Michael offering prayer. A committee was appointed to remember the shutins at Christmas time with fruit gifts, and Mrs. Ed Kolter and Mrs. Otto Hildebrand were appointed to serve on the executive board of the Womens guild. MUSIC DEPARTMENT HAS CHRISTMAS PARTY Tin- Music department of the Decatur Woman’s club met at the home of Mrs. Hephtls Jackson Monday evening for a Christmas dinner and gift exchange. Twenty four members and one guest were entertained in the home, beautifully decorated with pine branches and candlax in keeping with the holiday season After the dinner. Mrs. Harold Grant conducted the business meeting, opened with the club collect. Roll call waa answered with current events and Mrs. Harry Thompson, fines secretary, gave a report of the fines for 1945 and 1946. Mio. Lewis Lltferer read an In teresfing paper on "The Story of the Christinas Carol.” Mrs. L. A. Hiothouse then sang a negro spiritual carol, "Rir<e Up Shejfherd Poller." "O Zion Haste;" "Christmas Customs in Other Lands." Mrs Archie Smitley; read Ing. "We Would Be Building," Mrs Fogle. A short business meeting was then conducted and the gifts exchange held. The meeting closed with prayer by Mrs. Johnston. Tin- Church Mothers Study club will meet Tuesday evening at eight o'clock at the home of Mrs. Niland Ochuenrider. Devotions will be given by Mis. Paul Cummings, and the program will be in charge of Mm. .Merlin Correll. A fifty cent gift exchange will be held. Hostesses will he .Mm. Ochuenrider, Mrs. Homer Reppert, Mrs. Carl Baxter, Mrs. George Roop and Mrs. Albert Powell. The St. Mary's society will have a Christmas party Monday evening at seven thirty o'clock at the C. To Celebrate 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. James Ed want Roe, of near Decatur, will observe their golden wedding anniversary Saturday. December 14. with a six o’clock basket dinner at the Monmouth school house forth Ir many friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Roe have seven children, eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Their children are laiwrence Ro«, Mrs Frances Alverson, Albert Roe and Irvin Roe. of Fort Wayne Mr*. Blanche Tarr, Cincinnati; U-o Roe, route 1. and Lloyd Roe of route 2. Tin- ceelbrants were married in December, 1X96 in tills city and resided in Adams county five years, moving then to North Dakota where they made their home for 22 years. They have re-ided in tint county since that time. Mr. Roe is a retired farmer.
